Awards & Initiatives
Through the Jared Pelletier Memorial Foundation, we are proud to support Maine’s young athletes through monetary awards, equipment funding, and youth camp enrollment opportunities. Our programs are designed to recognize dedication, leadership, and perseverance while helping remove financial barriers that may prevent athletes from fully pursuing their potential. Each recipient represents the spirit of commitment and passion that Jared embodied, and we are honored to invest in the next generation carrying that legacy forward.
JPMF Courage Award
Award Value: $250 Play It Again Sports Gift Certificate
Recipients: One Edward Little High School freshman boy and one freshman girl
Sport Eligibility: Soccer and/or Ice Hockey
Selection Partner: Edward Little High School Awards Committee
The Courage Award honors Edward Little High School freshman athletes who make an immediate and meaningful impact on their team. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional skill, strong work ethic, and the determination to grow, while inspiring teammates through their attitude and commitment.
Recipients lead by example, embrace challenges, accept feedback, and consistently strive to improve. Special consideration is given to student-athletes whose families face financial barriers, helping ensure they have the equipment and support needed to continue pursuing their athletic goals.
JPMF Legend Award
Award Value: $500 Monetary Award
Recipients: One Edward Little High School senior boy and one senior girl
Sport Eligibility: Soccer and/or Ice Hockey
Selection Partner: Edward Little High School Awards Committee
The Legend Award honors Edward Little High School senior athletes whose dedication, leadership, and performance have left a lasting impact on their team throughout their high school athletic career. This award recognizes individuals who consistently demonstrate excellence, resilience, and a commitment to both personal growth and team success.
Recipients embody leadership on and off the field, inspire those around them, and represent the highest standard of perseverance, teamwork, and athletic character.
JPMF Young Legend Award
Award Value: Full Scholarship to The Mental Goalie School Youth Summer Camp ($700 Value)
Recipients: Selected youth athletes, ages 8–12U and 14–19U
Sport Eligibility: Ice Hockey
Selection Partner: Maine Gladiators Hockey Organization
The Young Legend Award provides a full scholarship to The Mental Goalie School’s Youth Summer Camp, supporting young athletes who demonstrate exceptional dedication, work ethic, and passion for the game. This award is designed to invest in the long-term development of promising athletes by giving them access to elite training and mentorship opportunities.
Recipients are selected by our trusted partner, the Maine Gladiators, who identify the hardest working athletes from their youth roster across the 8–12U and 14–19U age divisions. These athletes exemplify perseverance, coachability, and a commitment to growth, both on and off the ice.
Through this scholarship, the Jared Pelletier Memorial Foundation is proud to help remove financial barriers and provide young athletes with opportunities to continue developing their skills, confidence, and love for the game.
